While my generation are all about the hot coffee, it seems the next gen only want coffee if there are ice cubes in the mix.
So, I’ve been trying out a variety of recipes to see what the big deal is, and I can report that I’m a fan. While I’m not giving up my hot morning coffee, I am into a mid-morning or mid-arvo iced latte.
Some things I've learnt:
> I'm very used to making my morning hot coffee but I seem to lose motivation to make another brew for the iced coffee. To get around this, I will either a) brew one stovetop in the morning and use half for my hot coffee and keep the other half for a mid-morning iced version or b) brew a big batch and keep it in the fridge.
> I'm often feeling like an iced coffee mid arvo - kinda like a liquid afternoon snack - but I don't want the caffeine so I'm using decaf. And this works well- it's still got the coffee flavour I'm after, without losing sleep.
> Many iced coffees are packed full of sugar, which is not my vibe. I am in the process of trying out some sugar free versions, using a variety of different milks and flavours.
