When Riley began a few years ago, we never imagined we’d be on the shelves of Woolworths. That seemed like the domain of the big guys only, out of reach for owner-operators like us.
BUT…earlier this year we were given the opportunity to pitch and they like what they saw (and tasted). We got an official letter of acceptance, and it truly felt like we’d made it.
So, from September, you’ll find our freshly roasted coffee beans on the shelves of selected Woolworths stores from Warkworth to Queenstown.
We have created two new coffee blends, Ambler and Heyday, both of which will be available as whole bean and in a larger 750g bag. Our Ambler coffee is a golden medium roast with smooth malt and subtle spice. Heyday is darker and brings a dark chocolate flavour.
Like all our coffee, our small team will be roasting and hand-packing Ambler and Heyday in our west Auckland roastery. It is delivered directly to each of the Woolworths stores to make sure it’s fresh.
Riley is new to grocery so we will be learning as we go. Now that we have the bags on the shelves, the next step is telling everyone about it so it flies of the shelves! Watch this space.
